Itinerary

Grab one of our 16 spaces for 2025's Pembrokeshire edition of Run Weekends. A long weekend with fellow runners, getting muddy on the coastal trails, all while staying in the comfort of a cosy cottage with sea views, hot tubs, and fire pits.

The epic Welsh coast. Pembrokeshire offers some of the best coastal running in Britain. Rugged paths and stunning beaches with hidden coves will be our landscape for the weekend, all in the comfort of our cosy 16 person cottage, complete with views and the all important hot tub to rest the legs post run. Join Nick and the team for 3 group runs (all of which are optional, or you can run part of). We’ll have a 8km gentle jog on the Friday, 28km on Saturday, and 14km on Sunday, all on the coast with exceptional views. Last year it was muddy, so come prepared with extra socks, but bring sun cream too. You never know what the welsh coast will throw at you. We'll have chilled beach yoga sessions, sea kayaking, smores around the fire, and some local food. Don’t forget, this is for all abilities. We’ll run together as a group. Healthy and hearty breakfasts, fish and chips, and local produce cooked on the BBQ or in our shared cottage (weather dependant). We will always endeavour to take your dietary requirements into consideration.

Day 1 - Friday 25th April 2025

Pembrokeshire National Park - Arrival Day, 8km

Welcome to the Pembrokeshire coastline. Arrive from 16:00 (don’t worry if you have to travel and arrive really late - that’s fine, we’ll be here). Once you get to us, settle in to the beautiful cottage that looks out over Fishguard Harbour, and Dinas Island. If you arrive before 18:00 you can join us as we head out to loosen up the legs with a 8km gentle coastal jog direct from the cottage. Combining trail & a little road we’ll aim to reach the top of Dinas mountain for sunset (don't worry, it's not an actual mountain, it's just what the locals call it). Once gathered back at our cottage we’ll tuck into a delicious home made speciality chilli. We’ll always accommodate for dietary requirements - just let us know.

Day 2 - Saturday 26th April 2025

Ridge line, Carn Ingli, & Dinas Mountain - 28km

Wakey wakey - it’s a 28km trail route today. Post breakfast around 11:00 we will run the stunning Pembrokeshire coast path all the way around Dinas Island and down to the famous Newport Sands. Here we will stop for a nibble lunch with snacks and ice creams while we take in the view. Then we will head up through Newport on the slopes of Carn Ingli. Having summited, we will follow the ridge line of the Preseli Hills along all the way back to Dinas Mountain, then down to the coast for a jump in the ocean! Pack your swim stuff in your backpack. Later we’ll relax with sunset yoga at Secret Bay which takes place a short 2km stroll along the coast path from camp. We’ll take in the sunset, stretch out the body and feast on a selection of BBQ food and picnic essentials sourced from Pembrokeshire farms, some from within a mile of the cottage. We'll cook dinner together and then huddle around the fire more (or jump in the hot tub depending on what the weather brings). Bring a jacket, we may even have time for an outdoor cinema experience while we eat.

Day 3 - Sunday 27th April 2025

Kayaking, Pub Lunch, & Strumble Head Run - 14km

Fancy a few hours kayaking around the bays and inlets off the Pembrokeshire coast? Well - get your shoes on because we’re running to the kayaks at Fishguard Harbour. Having jogged the short distance, the ocean treats us to 2 hours navigating around the coast in our kayaks. Watch out for seals, porpoises, and seabirds! Lunch will be at a local fisherman's pub in the Old Harbour itself. Full from lunch we will transfer across to the beautiful Strumble Head lighthouse for a our final coastal run together along one of the best known stretches for seals. The 14km route looks out to both the northern and southern coastlines of Pembrokeshire. You’re welcome to make your way home this evening (if work is calling), otherwise stick with us for your third night and head off post breakfast. 3 nights accommodation is included to give you flexibility. If you do stay we may even fit in a quick morning dip in the sea before the drive home.
