Every Run Weekends adventure is a little different. The Overall Challenge Level is designed to give you clear, at-a-glance guidance on how demanding a trip is likely to feel as a whole. It’s not about speed or racing, it’s about the combined physical, mental, and logistical challenge across the entire experience.
All our trips are suitable for all abilities because we design the support to take good care of you. These rating are simply to help you make an informed decision as to the challenge you’ll experience. We break this down into four simple categories, which together form the overall rating.

Comfort considers how you live during the trip. Factors include whether you’re carrying your own kit, the style of accommodation, and recovery time. We stay in range of places, from camping outdoors, to simple mountain huts, all the way up to high-end 5 star hotels.
Terrain looks at the type and amount of ground you’ll be running on. Smooth roads and wide trails rate lower, while technical, rocky, or exposed terrain that requires greater focus and energy rates higher.
Distance reflects the length of each day’s run plus how many days you’ll be running consecutively. Longer daily distances and multiple back-to-back run days increase the challenge.
Elevation considers both the steepness and total volume of climbing across the trip. Sustained climbing day after day rates harder, while shorter or occasional steep sections rate easier.



Taken together, these four elements provide a balanced, honest snapshot of what to expect, helping you choose the adventure that best matches your appetite for the challenge.
All Run Weekends are designed for all abilities. Naturally each trip poses different challenges to every individual. As for fitness, we invite everyone to try any of our events. This is because we pride ourselves in being able to support everyone. We always run together as a group at a casual pace. We stop for photos, we stop for food, and we slow down if others are behind. Our trips are a safe space to explore trying distances you haven't run. We will always do our best to accommodate you. If you'd like to skip a day, or simply do half, many of our trips offer this as an option. Please just let us know before you book.
