Arrive on Friday evening, settle in with an evening 5km group run before dinner. Saturday, is marathon day. 42km run as a group, you'll jog along the iconic South West Coast Path finishing with an epic picnic BBQ before afternoon activities and a heavenly evening meal. Sunday, if you dare, join Nick on another early run (5km-10km) before a hour spa session in the famous Aqua Club complete with outdoor hydrotherapy pool and hot tub. Before you head home, it's beach games and fish and chips in the dunes.
Day 1 - Friday 31st January
Welcome to the North Coast of Cornwall. Arrive in the late afternoon meeting at your 4* accommodation, the Fistral Beach Hotel just a stones throw from the birth place of the British Surfing Championships on Fistral Beach. Nick will host a dinner for all guests following a short 5km evening shake out run from headland to headland. As always every run is optional and there’s no set pace. You’ll have some time to get to know each other with pizzas and a fire pit (weather permitting). Top Tip: If you want an ocean facing room - grab an early bird place soon.
Day 2 - Saturday 1st February
It’s an early start. Set your alarms for sunrise. As the sun is waking up you’ll be given your ‘marathon ready’ breakfast to eat on the road. A 40 minute journey by car will take us to the start of our 42km marathon route from Padstow, along the stunning trails of the South West Coast Path, back into Newquay. We’ll allow 6 hours so we can take in the sights, snack on route, and stop for a breather at the top of many hills. Reaching the magical 42km mark you’ll be back at the hotel with a huge picnic and BBQ waiting for you. Shower, change, eat, relax. Once fed it’s time to soak the legs in natures ice bath - the Atlantic. Spa, surfing or beach walks are your options for the afternoon before a slightly fancier dinner in one of Fistral’s best restaurants.
Day 3 - Sunday 2nd February
If you can face it, Nick will lead you out on a gentle 10km early sunrise jog across the beaches around Newquay. Or you can opt to have a lie in and meet us in reception for 09:30. Once gathered we will head to your morning breakfast and spa combo at the new multimillion pound Aqua Club at the famous Headland Hotel. It’s beautiful. With views over the ocean we’ll soak our tired legs in the outdoor hydrotherapy baths before a hearty breakfast. From 13:30 it’s beach games and fish and chips on the dunes. At 16:00 the weekend comes to a close with a brief message from Nick before you depart for home.
