Escape to the stunning landscapes of Vinaròs, Spain, for an exclusive, carefully designed running retreat in the sun. You'll run through the rugged Beceite Mountains, the Serra del Montsià range, and the stunning Parc Natural dels Ports. Join us for a running retreat that offers an immersive adventure with a relaxed vibe. All our adventures are suitable for all abilities—if some days feel tougher than others, don’t worry. We’ll take the running slow, always sticking together and allowing plenty of time for stops, photos, and snacks.

Nestled in a luxurious private villa by the sea, you’ll enjoy a serene, intimate experience with a small group of up to 16 fellow runners, ensuring a genuine sense of camaraderie. Your retreat includes 70 kilometers of thoughtfully designed trail routes spread across five days, each day crafted to challenge you and leave you eager for more. You’ll run through some of the most beautiful natural scenery in Spain, with daily trails accessed via short transfers. Explore scenic paths, forested hills, and panoramic ridgelines, all while being looked after by our Run Weekends team and on-site private chef, who will provide nutritious, delicious meals to fuel and refuel you after each run.

Unwind each evening with a refreshing dip in your villa’s private pool or relax in the spacious garden area, taking in views across the sea. This exclusive retreat promises not only an adventurous running experience but also a luxurious escape where every detail is crafted for your enjoyment. With a focus on camaraderie, nature, and well-being, this adventure will leave you feeling rejuvenated, energized, and deeply connected to the beauty of Spain’s wild landscapes. Day 1 - Wednesday 3rd June

Arrival, Check In - 10km Shakeout Run

 

Welcome to the Costa del Azahar! Your Run Weekend kicks off at 17:00 in the coastal town of Vinaròs. The villa pool is waiting for you! Please aim to arrive by 18:00, ahead of your welcome drinks and briefing at 19:00. After a quick change into your running gear, we’ll head out for a gentle 10km shakeout run to get your legs ready for the next few days of mountain running. We’ll follow the coast for a chance to get your bearings and soak in the sun. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a late dinner (Spanish-style!) around 21:00, where you’ll meet your chef for the first time. Dinner will be a relaxed, traditional affair, designed with fueling in mind. We’re happy to cater to dietary requirements—please notify us once your booking is confirmed.

Day 2 - Thursday 4th June

Serra del Montsià Trail Loop - 18km + 900m

 

Today, we head to the mountains! After breakfast and a brief at 08:00, you’ll have some time to prepare your running gear. Please bring a small running backpack with room for 2 liters of water, as hydration will be key in the warmth. A short 30-minute transfer will take us to the start of the route. This trail, nestled in the stunning Sierra del Montsià, offers exceptional views of the Ebro Delta and winds through wild nature and rugged terrain. Starting just outside Sant Carles de la Ràpita, the trail leads us along the Camí de l'Aiguaserra, passing picturesque spots like Barranc de Solito, Cova del Llop, and Mola de Peluca. The route features a mix of rocky terrain and hidden coves, with plenty of opportunities for photos. Some sections require scrambling, so sturdy shoes and optional poles are recommended. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a late lunch, followed by time to relax in the pool, play padel, or even take a siesta. We’ll wrap up the day with dinner and drinks as the sun sets on a spectacular day.

Day 3 - Friday 5th June

Beceite - Pantano de la Pena Reservoir Loop - 15km + 400m

​

It’s a jam-packed day, so you may want to have an early breakfast! After a 09:00 departure, we’ll head to Beceite, a small village in the mountains, north of the villa. The 15km loop begins in the heart of Beceite and climbs steeply to reveal stunning views of the Pantano de la Pena reservoir. From there, we’ll descend along wide dirt tracks on the southeast bank, with plenty of stops for photos—no rush, we run together! After the trail, we’ll enjoy tapas for lunch and then stop by the charming, medieval town of Morella, a jewel of the Costa Azahar interior, where the views are nothing short of spectacular. We’ll return to the villa just in time for another delicious dinner by your chef. If you’re still up for it, there’s the option for a quick dip in the sea.

Day 4 - Saturday 6th June

Sunrise Yoga & Castell de Peníscola Beachfront - 22km + 100m

​

The sun rises early, so we will too! Start the day with a peaceful sunrise yoga session and gentle meditation on the beach. We’ll stroll back for breakfast around 07:30, and then begin our 22km coastal run at 09:30. No need for day bags today, as we’ll pass plenty of spots for water, ice cream, and snacks along the way. The route leads us to the Castell de Peníscola, a majestic fortress perched on a rocky hill overlooking the Mediterranean. Steeped in history, the castle offers panoramic views of both the town and the sea. We’ll stop for a picnic lunch, then head back to the villa to relax. After a well-deserved siesta, enjoy dinner and drinks by the pool as we conclude our final full day together.

Day 5 - Sunday 7th June

5km Shakeout & Goodbyes

All good things must come to an end. Today is a chance to share contacts, enjoy one last breakfast in the sun, and head out for a quick 5km along the coast. We’ll return to the villa by 10:00 for checkout. Feel free to relax by the pool until 12:00—perhaps enjoy a final game of paddle or some reflective time by the sea. We thank you for joining us and look forward to seeing you again soon.

You're in good hands: Nick has travelled to every corner of the world, run over 1000 marathons, and has dreamt up Run Weekends because he want's to showcase the world through running, just as he has. We all run together, we look after each other, and enjoy the weekends as a group.

Getting to us

Meeting Point

Your Run Weekend will commence at 17:00 at your villa in Vinaros. Nick or the villa team will meet you when you arrive. You are welcome to arrive from 15:00. Nick, the Run Weekends team, along with your chef, and villa team will host a welcome briefing by the pool at 18:00. If you intend to arrive late, that's not a problem, just let us know so we know when to expect you.

Arrival & Departure Times

Please arrive between 15:00 - 18:00, 3rd June 2026

Your Run Weekend will conclude at 11:00 on 7th June 2026 at the villa.

Getting to the Villa.

Once booked you'll receive a welcome pack with the address and exact location. For reference the villa is close to the Punta de les Llavateres beach.
